Genetic Monitoring of Alnus glutinosa Natural Populations Using Two Generation Cohorts

چکیده
The genetic diversity of populations is the ultimate source for adaptation and survival under changing environmental conditions. Genetic monitoring temporal changes in autochthonous forest tree key ecosystems species allows us to predict mitigate potentially harmful forests adaptability. aim present study was assess protected A. glutinosa populations, compare between maternal progeny generations, a distribution area that known harbour extensive diversity, if there an impact on when management practices promote natural regeneration mature stands are introduced. ten from Lithuania studied using 20 nuclear SSR primers. In total, 597 individuals (300 juvenile 297 trees) were investigated. half black alder GCUs, carried out. revealed high (average population Ar 5.77, Ho He–0.70) low, but significant differentiation populations. lack differences among different generations (population cohorts), strong indication GCUs form excellent platform protection species’ country.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Polyploidy in plants has been studied extensively. In many groups, two or more cytotypes represent separate biological entities with distinct distributions, histories and ecology. This study examines the distribution and origins of cytotypes of Alnus glutinosa in Europe, North Africa and western Asia. METHODS A combined approach was used involving flow cytometry and micros...
متن کاملDiarylheptanoids from Alnus viridis ssp. viridis and Alnus glutinosa: Modulation of Quorum Sensing Activity in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Diarylheptanoids from the barks of Alnus viridis ssp. viridis (green alder) and Alnus glutinosa (black alder) were explored for anti-quorum sensing activity. Chemicals with anti-quorum sensing activity have recently been examined for antimicrobial applications. The anti-quorum sensing activity of the selected diarylheptanoids was determined using two biosensors, namely Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA...
متن کاملHigh Genetic Diversity and Distinctiveness of Rear-Edge Climate Relicts Maintained by Ancient Tetraploidisation for Alnus glutinosa
Populations located at the rear-edge of a species' distribution may have disproportionate ecological and evolutionary importance for biodiversity conservation in a changing global environment. Yet genetic studies of such populations remain rare. This study investigates the evolutionary history of North-African low latitude marginal populations of Alnus glutinosa Gaertn., a European tree species...

This study was conducted to determine the genetic relationships among and population history of four Nigerian indigenous goat populations. A total of 200 goats from three breeds namely Sahel (60), Red Sokoto (60), West-African dwarf (60) and Kano Brown, a strain (20), were used for the study. Tissue samples were collected from the ear of animals using an Allflex® ear punch tissue sample collect...
